Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at 601-799-5353, if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Applicants must be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as 501(c)(3) organizations or must be units of government serving Pearl River County. Proposed projects must serve/benefit the citizens of Pearl River County, Mississippi.

The Lower Pearl River Valley Foundation operates on an invitation-only grant application process. Organizations interested in seeking funding must first submit a Letter of Interest (LOI) for review to narias@lprvf.org

Following review of the Letter of Interest, the Foundation will determine whether the proposed project aligns with its funding priorities. Organizations whose requests align with the Foundation’s mission and grant making guidelines may be invited to submit a full grant application.

Submission of a Letter of Interest does not guarantee an invitation to apply for funding.

Organizations interested in seeking funding should submit a brief Letter of Interest that includes the following information:

  • A description of the organization and its mission

  • A brief overview of the project or program for which funding is being requested

  • The geographic location where the project or program will take place

  • The population or community that will be served

  • The purpose of the request and why funding is needed

Letters of Interest may be submitted by email for review at narias@lprvf.org

If the Letter of Interest aligns with the Foundation’s priorities, the organization may be invited to submit a full grant application.

All applications are reviewed to ensure they meet the Foundation’s grant making guidelines.

Applications that meet the criteria may then be presented for consideration by the Foundation’s Board.

Due to the volume of requests received, the Foundation is not able to invite every organization that submits a Letter of Interest to apply.

All grant application materials must be submitted by Close of Business (COB), defined as 5:00 PM Central Standard Time (CST), on the stated deadline date.

January 15th - for spring meeting

April 15th - for summer meeting

July 15th -  for fall meeting

October 15th - for winter meeting

Applications received after 5:00 PM CST may not be considered for the current review cycle.

Organizations are encouraged to submit materials in advance of the deadline to allow time for confirmation of receipt.

Because of strong competition and limited funds, not all applicants receive grant awards. Unfortunately, some good proposals cannot be funded.
